Charity Exhibition & Art Auction

The charity exhibition brings together Berlin-based artists, designers, photographers, musicians and young participants in support of 720°+ MMAE’s work raising awareness of colorectal cancer and life with a stoma.
The programme includes artworks, limited editions, music and a charity auction. Participating artists will donate a portion of their auction sales to support this work.

ON THE RAFT OF THE MEDUSA
The immersive exhibition ON THE RAFT OF THE MEDUSA by Raimund Schucht takes visitors on a journey aboard the Medusa – a metaphor for our contemporary society. In the multilayered, spatial installation, sculpture, text, and sound intertwine.
Drawing on Théodore Géricault’s iconic painting The Raft of the Medusa, the exhibition explores questions of social fragmentation, collective uncertainty, and societal transformation – in the tension between dissolution and recurrence.

IMAGINE – THE ART OF LIFE

IMAGINE – THE ART OF LIFE brings together installation, photography, video and performance by Fei Huang Mei and Jan H. Jahn.
COMETOGETHER
A multimedia group exhibition centered on the theme of togetherness, bringing together nearly 30 works by 13 artists. Painting, photography, performance, and poetry converged, creating a warm and connected artistic environment that became a focal point of Berlin’s winter art scene.
NO LOGO — Berlin Art Week
As an affiliated project of Berlin Art Week, this exhibition explored the intersection of contemporary art and rebellion. Under the concept “No Logo,” art, music, and performance merged into an immersive nocturnal experience, breaking down boundaries between art and everyday life.
DAMIT SPIELT MAN NICHT — Taboo Toys
A contemporary thematic exhibition addressing artistic taboos, engaging boldly with issues of medicine, capital, and shame. Through interactive installations and photography, the exhibition challenged conventional modes of expression and invited critical reflection on hidden social norms.
10 YEARS OF CRAZINESS — Sascha Koneva
Focusing on ten years of artistic practice by Sascha Koneva, this exhibition presented works across fashion, installation, and photography. A publication released alongside the exhibition offered deeper insight into the evolution of the artist’s language.


Back2Home
Curated by Giovanni De Feo, this exhibition brought together works by 14 artists, including Avi Albers, Ben Chao, Cristina Barroso, and Dr. Huang Mei. Multiple contemporary perspectives explored themes of return, belonging, and identity.
BERLINER KRAFTKREIS
An art-based healing project initiated by a female artist with lived experience of cancer. Developed in collaboration with the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC), the project explored art as a resource for recovery and reflection.
HER POWER | 她力量
A global exhibition of contemporary women artists curated by Dr. Huang Mei. The exhibition focused on identity, freedom, growth, and inner strength, creating a cross-cultural dialogue through female perspectives.

Opening of 720°+ MMAE | 23. June 2021
720°+ MMAE officially opened in Berlin on 23 June 2021.
Through exhibitions, video, and live performance, the opening presented the complex relationships between art, body, and lived experience, marking the beginning of a long-term artistic practice space.
Guests included representatives from the Argentine Embassy in Germany, the German media group Burda, as well as artists, cultural professionals, and project collaborators.
Poet Yang Lian and his wife also joined the exchange.





Artist Overview
Mei Huang
Founder of MMAE 720, established the art space in central Berlin in 2020.
Initiated public-interest art projects in collaboration with Charité Hospital.
Curatorial focus on contemporary art and international exchange,
including the exhibition “HER POWER.”
German media artist, filmmaker and director.
From 1998 to 2021, Professor of Film and Video at the School of Design, Mainz University of Applied Sciences; from 2011 to 2021, Executive Director of its Institute for Media Design.
His internationally exhibited and award-winning work explores German history and social issues through film, video and installation.
Artistic adviser to 720°+ MMAE.
Hartmut Jahn
Xiaojing Ma
A transmedia contemporary artist with extensive international experience.
Works across painting, moving image, and installation, engaging with diverse cultural contexts.
Participated in international exhibitions, including Back Home MMAE720 (Berlin Art Week 2024).
Advocates transmedia practices as a means to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
